Here you'll find a chronological overview of all new features and improvements to Energy Forecast.
The service was launched in May 2024, originally as an experimental idea to optimize personal energy consumption.
Our API now supports 15-minute electricity prices – in line with the market transition on 1 October 2025.

Energy Forecast now supports multiple European market zones:
Note: The new market zones are in beta phase. The models are still learning and forecast quality will continue to improve in the coming weeks.
As the entire service gradually became more professional, we adjusted our pricing model:
Important: All users who purchased the 96-hour forecast via one-time payment retain lifetime access. Thank you for your early support of the project!
In February 2026 we took two important steps for broader reach and data privacy:
In April 2026 we introduced support for variable grid fees. Users can now enter their time-dependent grid fees directly in their profile:
Note: Variable grid fees are currently only available in Germany – under the conditions of §14a EnWG Module 3 (controllable consumption devices).
Q2 2026 is done. We introduced a fully new API v2 that delivers plan-based forecast horizons (Free: 2 days, Pro: 6 days, Business: 12 days) in a clean structure. API v1 also delivers the full horizon and remains fully backward compatible.
We now run a new forecasting model. It predicts electricity prices much better than before – the error is about one third smaller. You don't need to do anything: the new forecasts arrive automatically via website, API and Home Assistant.
In addition to Germany, Austria, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland and Denmark, forecasts are now also available for Switzerland, Czechia, Hungary, Slovenia, Northern Italy, Southern Norway and Southern Sweden. A map of all zones is on our home page.
You can now import your grid fees from your Tibber tariff into your profile with one click – no more looking them up.
Not on Tibber yet? Using our invite link supports energyforecast.de.
